New Donation |
| At a recent presentation in Murthly Village Hall we were presented with a cheque for £2500 by the Perthshire and District Association of Junior Agricultural Clubs. |
| The young farmers had collected this money by performing a Christmas Pantomine and other fundraising efforts. |
| We would like to acknowledge this fantastic donation which is a big boost to our funds. Thank you to all those who took part from the club and also to those who supported them with their efforts. |

Annual General Meeting |
| The annual general meeting of the association will be held at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 16th March 2010 at the Red House Hotel, Coupar Angus. All are welcome at the meeting and we would extend an invitation to anyone who is interested in being involved with the association in its roll of supporting the work of the rescue team. |
| A number of items will be raised in addition to the normal format of the meeting. Changes have been proposed to the association constitution which has not been updated for a number of years. Members of the association will be a notified of these proposals in due course. The members will be asked to vote on these changes at the meeting. The changes are designed to bring the constitution in line with the changing roll of the team and to generally increase the efficiency of both the team and the association. A general discussion will follow as to the way forward for membership of the association. We need to address a number of issues of what members can do to assist the committee and what the association can offer members. The ever increasing costs of maintaining the standards within the team are a major concern to us all and we need to address this by increasing our fundraising efforts. |
| Mountain Rescue is an essential service for all who visit the hills and mountains of our area. We are also becoming more involved as part of the emergency services response to other situations. As a result we hope that the team can play an ever increasing roll in support of the emergency services within our communities. Please come along to our AGM and give your support to our organisation. |

Changes within Tayside Mountain Rescue |
| Joy Ingram stood down as President of the Association and Alfie Ingram also stood down as Team Leader / Secretary at the AGM held in February this year. We are all grateful for the tremendous support given to Tayside Mountain Rescue over the last 20+ years by both Alfie and Joy. The new President of the Association is Eric Drummond whom many of you may remember when he was the leader of the Tayside Police Search and Rescue Unit. Eric retired as a Chief Inspector some years ago and is now helping the association. |
| Taking over as team leader is Stuart Johnston who has a wealth of Mountaineering experience. Stuart is currently the Training Officer for the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland. |

Membership |
| Thank you for your support for Tayside Mountain Rescue. |
| If you are interested in becoming a member and helping to support the team for the future, membership costs just a minimum of only £1 per annum and is payable by 1st April in every year. Most members give an additional donation every year and this helps defray the running costs of the team. |
| If your address has changed or you have an email address that we could use to keep in touch with you, particularly regarding the sponsored walk, please can you let me know. |

Team Base |
| Following a long spell without any base or garaging for the team vehicles and equipment we are going to be launching a fundraising campaign to secure enough money to build a team base. |
| Various options and locations are being considered for this and a small team has been formed to work up the proposals and advise the committee on this. A temporary garage has been found in Coupar Angus. |
