4 x 4 Training at Highland Safaris.

Thanks to Andy for a fantastic 4×4 training yesterday!

January Training session.

For this month’s Team training we ventured to Glenshee to look at casualty extraction, then back to our Blairgowrie St John’s Base for a session on technical rigging.

Tayside Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely of volunteers who live in the operational area. A wide variety of professions can be found in the Team. All are skilled and experienced mountaineers. Team Members are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to help anyone who is in trouble in the mountains.

We rely on public donations to fund the work that we do, if you would like to contribute, please visit our Just Giving page and follow the link:

Training at Glenalmond College.

This month’s Team training was our annual day/night session. Massive thanks to all the staff and students at Glenalmond College for letting us use their grounds, played casualties, and fed us after the training.

Call out 27 for 2018.

Call Out 27/2018: Team Call Out to the Ben Lawers area to search for two missing hillwalkers, who were successfully located using SARLOC technology, and then walked off the mountain by Team Members.

Please remember maps DO NOT require batteries. An over reliance on mobile phone navigational software is on the rise in Scotland, and is one of the most common reasons why people get lost in the mountains. Also having the proper and appropriate equipment is of equal importance – there are no safe paths in the Scottish Mountains.
