Just met with an amazing young man – 8 year old Kenzie Goddard who raised an enormous £555 for Tayside Mountain Rescue by walking the West Highland Way – a fantastic achievement from a cracking wee fella!!
Massive ‘Thanks’ to the staff from MORRISONS ARBROATH, Martin Menzies (TMRT Member), Gary Malcolm (MORRISONS and TMRA Association Committee Member), Chris Nicol (MORRISONS Manager), friends and customers who scaled Ben Nevis to raise £800.00 for Team funds. A cracking effort!!
The 150 places for the duathlon have now sold out in a record time of 2 months before the start of the event! Also due to the high demand this year, we have increased the number of sponsored places and these too have almost completely gone. So well done to everyone involved!!!
Just a few photos from our latest training session at Craig a Barns. Topics covered were crag safety, how to protect a personal abseil, building anchors and working with nuts, cams, and hex’s. To end the session we had a couple of medical scenarios which included diagnosis and patient packaging.
We have had a fantastic response over the past week – 20 new entries – we are only 6 away from our last year entry list and 37 from being sold out – nearly 2 and a half months before entries close – Thanks so much for all your support – if you know someone who is still thinking about entering, get them to do it as soon as possible to avoid missing out – all proceeds to Tayside Mountain Rescue Team!!
Team training last Sunday was based around Craighall Gorge near Blairgowrie. The SRT’s did a recy of the gorge with a view to studying the hydrology and review any hazards that may cause problems with any possible future rescues.
